Adelio Sarro – Brazilian Contemporary Master of Nature Harmony
...« Nous voyons surgir des paysans, hors de leur réalité habituelle, devenant les personnages d’un peuple marginalisé, qui mettent en scène leurs membres comme s’ils étaient le vrai capital de leur existence.
Les mains et des pieds prennent des proportions d’énormité, transposant les corps et composant des ensembles hors des perspectives et des propositions ordinaires.
Chaque tableau devient un exercice de style et une invention de rythmes novateurs, constituant une harmonie plastique originale.
Face à leurs mains prégnantes, à leurs pieds géants, à leur expression mélancolique, nous éprouvons un choc émotionnel qui confère à ces modèles une présence émouvante qui nous interpelle.
Les personnages – agriculteurs, ouvriers, vagabonds, mères, enfants – saisis sur le vif dans leur bataille quotidienne pour une survie misérable, prennent une ampleur jusqu’au symbole. Sarro leur donne une attraction d’acteurs. Chaque scène rayonne d’une atmosphère intense qui capte l’attention et crée un échange. »...

Born in Andradina - Sao Paulo state in 1950 Adelio Sarro lived in several Brazilian cities accompanying his agricultural family. The family decided to settle at the ABC industrial zone in Brazil starting a new life.
There he started making placards, signs and banners to help to improve his family’ budget.
In 1972 Sarro went to see the Brazilian expressionist Master Portinari’ Museum in Brodowski – Sao Paulo state and he got very impressed by Portonari’s art pieces.
He reveled that his affinity with Portinari’s paintings was so magic that unable him to resist and he touched one of the paintings at the museum.
Sarro declares: “At that time, touching the painting was an electrifying experience. What I felt was so strong that on my return home I bought some paint, brushes, canvases, and started painting. I had no idea whatsoever about artistic painting. Nevertheless, I painted sceneries, dead nature and human forms. With time I improve my techniques”.
Although, he developed his own style with a light and delicate touch expressed in his paintings always showing the relation of the man with the nature, the animals and the music, Sarro feels nowadays that he belongs to Portinari’s family spiritually.
The paintings of Sarro have poetry and rhythm. His relation with the colors and the light takes us to a different and pleasant world of harmony and nature understanding.
It makes us feel that mankind and nature are able to finally achieve a physical and spiritual equilibrium.
